Nose Work

dog finding scent in a box
Nose Work is fun!

Nose work is an activity where your dog searches for hidden scents. The history of nose work comes from search and rescue dogs as well as contraband/detection dogs. In those disciplines, dogs search out substances such as drugs, gasoline, illegal produce, etc. and indicate the presence of such items to their handler. In nose work, the dog seeks out hidden scents/odors and indicates the presence of such to their owner/handler. The dog is not searching for drugs/contraband etc.; rather we train the dog to search for various essential oils. Nose work is an activity that will challenge your dog's thinking ability, as well as provide a fun outlet where the two of you can train and play together!
